Dr.Gustavo López-Muñoz y Larraz, born in Havana (Cuba), has been practicing Criminal Trial Law in Spain since 1965. Is fully bi-lingual (Spanish/English) and has collaborated for many years with the Embassies of USA, Canada and Norway in Madrid. He was retained, until its closing, by the former American Military Base at Torrejón (Madrid) to defend American airmen before the Spanish Courts.  He has been the legal representative of the Governments of Canada and Hong Kong (HKSAR) before the Spanish Courts in extradition cases.
Dr. GUSTAVO studied Law at the University of Madrid and holds a Doctors Degree in Juridical Sciences (JSD, LLM, JD.). He has also studied comparative Law at Harvard Law School at Cambridge, Mass. (PIL, 1972) and worked in NYC for the Law Firm of “Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle”, specialized in International and Latin American Law. For 10 years he was Senior International Counsel for all ITT companies in Spain.

Dr. GUSTAVO is the leading promoter of the Spanish Jury, enacted by Law of May 1995 and from 1981 through 1998 was the President of the Spanish Association For Trial by Jury ("Asociación Pro-Jurado"). He is the author of several law books on Spanish Jury Law, Habeas Corpus and Medical Negligence and has authored over 75 law articles on Spanish and Comparative Law published in Spanish and International Journals. He is a frequent lecturer in Law Schools and Bars and is a Fellow of theSpanish Bar Association since 1965, of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation since 1973 and of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers since 1977. Presently he is a Consultant member to the Board of the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), and European Fraud and Compliance Law (EFCI). Also has been a Lecturer on the Spanish Legal system at the Educational Program of the American Board of Trial Lawyers (ABOTA), Barcelona (Spain); Speaker before the International Bar Ass. (IBA) in Madrid, and Fair Trial International. Former Foreign Adviser to the UK Royal Commission for the Reform of the Criminal Code (UK) and Honorary and Life Member of National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and Special Consultant in representation of NACDL before the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations at Geneva. His specialized areas of practice are: Complex Criminal Trials and International Extraditions, Drugs & Money Laundering Trials, Medical Negligence and Gross Injuries.

He was granted in 1986 by the Spanish Council of Ministers the Distinguish Cross of Justice of San Raimundo de Peñafort for services rendered to the legal profession. From April 2009 Dr. LARRAZ had a daily Court program in Spanish TV (channel 5 “Telecinco”), called "De Buena Ley” ("From Good Law") that aired with great success for 5 years.
